Fast food company McDonald’s and art supply company Crayola have begun a joint promotion in Canada called “Planet McDonald’s.” Until Jan. 26, McDonald’s will offer a special Happy Meal menu item containing one of 10 space-themed toys from Crayola. Toys includes Crayola pencils, spiral art packs, coloring books, glow-in-the-dark posters, rubbing stations, stencil art and figures. The promotion includes in-store activites for children, as well as an online game that can be accessed via a QR code on the packaging. The promotion was developed by TMS of Chicago.
“The new space-themed world is packed with fresh ideas for young minds to help them fill the universe with creativity,” said Jessica Booth, account director at TMS. “Working with McDonald’s and Crayola, our promotion is bringing new worlds to life in a way that will inspire our audience to take their imagination to the next level.”
