McDonald's resumes Monopoly contest

Fast food chain McDonald’s Canada has resumed its annual Monopoly contest promotion. It will run nationally from Oct. 5 to Nov. 8. Consumers can participate by collecting game pieces from the packaging of eligible menu items. Some pieces offer instant-win prizes, while others must be collected in sets of seven and checked online at <http://www.mcdpromotion.ca> or via the McDonald’s mobile application. According to the company, the contest offers consumers a one-in-five chance to win prizes including food, cash, gift cards, cars and other merchandise worth approximately $80 million. The contest is being promoted with a campaign developed by Cossette and OMD, with prize support from TMSW.
“Monopoly at McDonald’s continues to be a popular annual tradition for our guests, which speaks to the fun side of the McDonald’s brand,” said Rebecca Smart, director of brand strategy marketing at McDonald’s Canada. “With millions of prizes to be won again this year, Canadians across the country have even more reason to enjoy their favourite McDonald’s foods together.”
