WPP acquires John St.

WPP has acquired Toronto-based creative agency John St. According to the company, John St. had revenues of approximately $14 million in 2012. Its clients include AstraZeneca, Kruger, ING Direct, Maple Leaf Foods and Tata. It has a staff of approximately 100. The firm will continue to operate with its current name and staff, at its current location. No financial details are available. "John St. will continue to do the kind of work that has made our clients and us unignorable for the past 12 years," said agency president Arthur Fleischmann. "But now we will be able to offer services in areas that clients are asking for such as media, direct and public relations." Other WPP companies operating in Canada include JWT, Ogilvy, GroupM, Hill&Knowlton Strategies and Burson-Marsteller. In addition, WPP subsidiary Young & Rubicam Group owns Taxi.
