New CEO at WPP

WPP of London, UK has appointed Cindy Rose to the position of chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1. She has spent the last nine years at Microsoft, most recently as chief operating officer for global enterprise. Prior to that, Rose was president of Microsoft Western Europe and CEO of Microsoft UK. She has also been managing director of UK consumer business at Vodafone and executive director of digital entertainment and media sales at Virgin Media. She also spent 15 years at The Walt Disney Company, concluding as senior vice-president and managing director of Disney Interactive Media Group, EMEA.
