Restaurant chain Subway has retained Montreal-based Allard-Johnson Communications as its advertising agency of record in Quebec. The firm won the account in a selection process involving 13 agencies. Subway's incumbent agency, Publicis, was considered along with Allard-Johnson in the final phase of the process. The review was conducted by Sark & Reynolds and Morin Public Relations. "We were quite impressed by Allard-Johnson's friendly, human approach," said Bill Anderson, marketing director for Subway in Canada. "Even though they don't know us very well, they were able to pick up on our franchisees' needs and grasp the issues quickly. Added to that, their clients have nothing but praise for them." Subway has approximately 500 locations in Quebec.
