Cossette launches Jungle Media.

Cossette has launched a new media planning and buying operation in Toronto called Jungle Media. According to the company the division will operate as a stand-alone agency. Sheri Metcalfe and Cindy Drown have been appointed vice-presidents and co-managing directors of Jungle Media. Both were previously at Cossette Media. Furniture retail chain Ikea Canada has signed-on as the firm's first client. "The media business is expanding faster than any other sector within our industry and we need to keep pace with that change," said Brett Marchand, president and COO of Cossette. "Jungle Media is a next generation media agency that will provide clients with a variety of specialized media services, such as amplification or adaptation of global campaigns appropriate to the local Canadian market, finding new ways of integrating media so that it truly becomes part the message, particularly with mobile and social media. Jungle will also bring experience in working with multiple creative partners." Cossette Media will continue to provide media planning and buying services for Cossette clients. Terry Horton, formerly vice-president and associate media director at Cossette Media, has been promoted to the position of vice-president and media director.
