Nike begins MTV campaign

Athletic shoemaker Nike has begun a promotion in association with MTV in Canada as part of its ongoing "Plus I Run" campaign. The initiative consists of three videos that encourage Canadians to run and promote the company's Nike+ product line. The first 90-second video was released yesterday. The other two videos, each two-minutes in length, will be released in mid-April and early May. All three videos feature MTV in Canada personalities. The campaign will run for nine weeks. The effort also includes a website at <http://www.mtv.ca/plusirun> and a contest that will begin on April 15. "With this campaign we've produced some high-impact creative content that's designed to keep viewers locked throughout the breaks," said Brad Schwartz, general manager of music and youth services at CTV. "This is the perfect blend of two of the world's most powerful brands and it's just one of the many innovative ways MTV in Canada is keeping its audience engaged and connected to our advertising partners." MTV in Canada is owned by CTV. The campaign was developed by MTV in Canada, Wieden & Kennedy and Cossette Communications.
