WPP buys Village Marketing

WPP has aquired influencer marketing agency Village Marketing in North America. Founded in 2013, the New York-based firm has 150 employees and a client list that inludes Equinox, Nike, Netflix, The Farmer’s Dog, Boll and Branch, Honest Co., Tommy John, SoulCycle and others. Village Marketing will join the Wunderman Thompson group. According to WPP, this will allow Wunderman Thompson to offer its clients better access to the “creator economy.”
“Influencers have an increasingly important role in creating brands,” said Mark Read, CEO of WPP. “Village Marketing will bring tremendous experience with some of the world’s leading brands in using influencer content alongside performance marketing strategies to drive results for modern marketers.”
