DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR ENVIRONMENT AWARDS

Deadline for entry into the Canadian Direct Marketing Association's Environmental Recognition Awards is Feb. 15. Each entry is graded on its success in reducing, re-using and recycling. Other elements considered include employee and consumer education, sponsorship projects, research and development and the measurable results of each project. The uniqueness of the initiatives and the amount of effort to run the program relative to the size of the company will also be looked at. The awards are presented in three categories: integrated programs, internal programs and consumer programs. They will be awarded at the CDMA National Convention and Trade Show in Ottawa running from May 7 to 9. Previous winners include L.L. Bean, Transcontinental Printing, Home Hardware Stores, Sears, Canada Trust, Pitney Bowes and Canadian Fulfillment Services.
