Olivier to become president, CEO of Transcontinental

The board of directors of Montreal-based Transcontinental has unanimously recommended that François Olivier be appointed president and chief executive officer at the company's next shareholder meeting in February 2008. In the interim, Olivier will become chief operating officer, while Luc Desjardins will remain president and CEO. Olivier, who joined Transcontinental in 1993 as general manager of a Montreal printing plant, is currently president of the printing products and services division. Prior to that, he was senior vice-president of the newspaper group at Transcontinental Printing.
