BLOCKBUSTER MOVES TO Y&R
By Adnews Staff
Young & Rubicam of New York walked away last week with the Blockbuster Entertainment video store account. The agency won in a competition with Foote Cone & Belding and Leo Burnett Company, both of Chicago, Bernstein-Rein of Kansas City and incumbent D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles of New York. The agency switch doesn't affect Canada, U.S. spokesperson Mike Caruso told Adnews last week. U.S. creative is used in Canada, while DMB&B's Toronto office handles media and promotions. Blockbuster's account for music stores, which operate only in the U.S., was moved from DMB&B to FCB in July.
