Weber Shandwick adds five

Weber Shandwick Canada of Toronto has recently hired five new staff members. Jane Almeida has joined the agency as vice-president of client experience. She was most recently head of brand communications at Restaurant Brands International. Prior to that, she was director of communications at the Office of the Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities, as well as at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. She was also a senior manager of corporate communications for the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Gabe Mederos has been appointed to the position of vice-president of integrated media strategy. He was previously director of social media at Info-Tech Research Group, senior marketing manager at Teach Away and director of media, social media and influencer relations at Scotiabank. He has also worked at Telus, Nestle Purina and Uponor. He has also operated his own firm called 5&10 Social Media.

Katie Wright has been hired as a planning director. She has previously worked at Spin Master, Nielsen and Ipsos.

Milena D’Agostino has joined the firm as a senior account manager in Vancouver. She was most recently an account manager at Veritas Communications. Prior to that, she was a senior account manager at Jive PR and a corporate communications coordinator at Katz Group Canada.

Yonnie Chan has been hired as a senior manager of client experience team. She was previously a senior account manager at Bookmark Content and Communications, as well as a regional account executive at Young & Rubicam.
