TD Canada Trust conducts TD Thanks You promotion

TD Canada Trust of Toronto conducted a promotion called "TD Thanks You" on July 25. At 2PM on that day, at 1,100 TD branches nationally, employees of the bank distributed green envelopes containing $20 bills to approximately 30,000 customers. The envelopes were handed to every customer in each branch at the time. Consumers using the company's phone and online banking services at the time were informed that $20 would be deposited into their accounts. As part of the promotion, the company has released an online video depicting a talking "Automated Thanking Machine" that distributed cash and personalized gifts to customers.
"A thank you can change someone's day, so that's why we have been surprising our customers across Canada, to say 'TD Thanks You,'" said Tim Hockey, president and CEO of TD Canada Trust. "We know Canadians have a lot of choice when it comes to where they bank, and we wanted to say that we appreciate that they continue to choose TD."
