CP OPENING A CHATEAU IN QUEBEC
By Adnews Staff
Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts is teaming up with Intrawest Corporation to open a chateau hotel in the Laurentians north of Montreal. Slated to open in December 1996, Chateau Mont Tremblant will have 308 rooms. It will boast 49 luxury condominiums, conference facilities for up to 1,600 people, restaurants, swimming pools and a health and beauty centre. The hotel will be located at the base of the popular Mont Tremblant ski area. The location offers alpine and cross-country skiing, ice skating, golf, mountain biking, horseback riding, sailing and watersports. Vancouver-based Intrawest, which bills itself as North America's leading developer of year-round mountain resorts, is developing the site. Besides Mont Tremblant, which it took over in 1991, Intrawest owns Blackcomb and Panorama Mountain in British Columbia, Stratton Mountain in Vermont and Keystone Resort in Colorado. CP will run the hotel. Quebec advertising for the hotel chain is done by BOS of Montreal. Karo Design Resources of Calgary handles the job in Alberta while Harrod & Mirlin of Toronto does it for the rest of Canada.
