Virgin Radio 95.3 to become Z95.3

Vancouver radio station Virgin Radio 95.3 is being rebranded as Z95.3 following the sale of the station by Bell Media to Newcap Radio. The station will maintain its current programming schedule of adult contemporary music. The station was previously known as Z95.3 before being rebranded as a Virgin Radio station by former owner Astral Media. The Canadian rights to the Virgin Radio brand remain the property of Bell Media. The rebranding will be promoted with an advertising campaign in the Vancouver area.
"We're excited to launch this truly Vancouver brand while continuing our current Hot AC mix that Virgin Radio 95.3 listeners have come to love," said station general manager Sherri Pierce. "Z95.3 never really disappeared. The popular Z95.3 bumper stickers are still everywhere on vehicles around the city."
