Vancouver radio station Shore 104.3 becomes LG 104.3

Newcap Radio has rebranded Vancouver radio station Shore 104.3 as LG 104.3. Beginning on June 20, the station will play pop music from the 1970s and 80s, and will use the tagline, "Vancouver's Greatest Hits." In addition, the station's call letters have changed from CHHR to CHLG to reflect the historical significance of the LG brand in the city.
"This city came of age to this music," said general manager Sherri Pierce. "An entire generation grew up listening to these songs on the original LG 73, and we are honoured to bring the LG name back to Vancouver on FM playing those very same songs. We believe that LG 104.3 is a vibrant new choice for your commute and your workplace. It's almost impossible not to sing along."
Newcap acquired Shore 104.3 from Bell Media last year, along with Virgin Radio 95.3 and AM650 in Vancouver. Newcap rebranded Virgin Radio 95.3 as Z95.3 in March.
