Automaker Scion Canada has signed-on as the presenting sponsor of the 2013 Polaris Music Prize. The annual prize awards $30,000 to the creator of the Canadian album of the year, as determined by an independent jury on the basis of artistic merit and without reference to record sales or genre. The winner will be announce in September. "Scion owners are youthful, active, urban and love to express their individuality both in the cars they drive and the music they listen to," said Cyril Dimitris, director of Scion Canada. "Scion has been a strong supporter of emerging Canadian talent and we're proud to sponsor an award that shines the spotlight on Canada's top musical talent."

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has signed a number of sponsors for this year's Juno Awards. Returning national sponsors include the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Radio Starmarker Fund and TD Bank Group. New national sponsors include the Province of Saskatchewan, PotashCorp, the City of Regina, the Regina Hotel Association and the City of Moose Jaw. Sponsors of the CTV broadcast of the awards show include Chevrolet, Garnier and Virgin Mobile. The 2013 Juno Awards will take place on April 21.
