SiriusXM to sponsor Juno comedy award

Satellite radio company SiriusXM Canada has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Through this agreement, SiriusXM will become the sponsor of the newly-reinstated Comedy Album of the Year award at the annual Juno Awards for Canadian music. The comedy award was last given 33 years ago. It is open to any album recorded by a comedic performer or performers consisting of stand-up, sketch, improvisational or musical comedy.
"We are thrilled to bring back Comedy Album of the Year, a category that celebrates Canada's gifted comedians," said Allan Reid, president and CEO of CARAS. "As we do with our diverse musical categories, the award embraces the full scope of this entertainment genre, recognizing the diverse talent making waves both locally and abroad."
