SCOTIABANK TAKES PHONE SERVICE TO PRAIRIES
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Scotiabank brought its telephone banking service to Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba this week. With TeleScotia, customers can pay bills, check balances, transfer funds, review transaction histories and check mutual fund accounts. The service began in southwestern Ontario and B.C. last month and will be rolled out across the rest of Canada in the fall. TeleScotia operates in four languages: English, French, Cantonese and Mandarin. It is being supported by direct mail, done by the Toronto office of Blitz Direct, a division of Cossette Communication-Marketing. Cossette's Toronto office is creating materials displayed in the bank's branches.
