General Motors promotes Pontiac Pump & Save offer

Blitz Direct, Data & Promotion has developed a national print and television campaign for General Motors of Canada in support of a promotional event called Pontiac Pump & Save. During May and June, Pontiac, Buick and GMC dealers will give consumers who purchase or lease a new vehicle a card which can be used to obtain a 20-cent-per-litre discount on gasoline for one year. The promotional campaign includes a 30-second television ad in English and French called “Trip.” The commercial depicts a family leaving for a vacation by bicycle, pulling a trailer of outdoor gear, because they cannot afford gas. Print ads will also run in major daily and weekly newspapers nationally. Point-of-purchase materials are in use at dealerships. In addition, radio advertising and website banners will be used in Quebec.
