TSN, GM resume Million Dollar Shootout

Specialty channel TSN, in association with General Motors of Canada, has resumed its "Million Dollar Shootout" promotion for a third year. The contest began today and will run until Dec. 7. Viewers can enter the contest at <http://www.tsn.ca/traverse>. One randomly-chosen entrant will receive a trip for six to Ottawa. During the first intermission of the IHF World Junior Championship game on Dec. 31, the entrant and two friends will have 15 seconds to shoot 10 pucks each into an open net from centre ice. If five to nine goals are scored, the entrant will win a Chevrolet Traverse Crossover. If 10 to 14 goals are scored, all three will win Crossovers. If 15 or more goals are scored, all three plus a randomly-chosen member of the audience will win Crossovers. After that, the entrant will attempt to shoot at least 15 out of 20 pucks into an open net from the far blue line in 24 seconds. If successful, the entrant will win $1 million. "The Chevrolet Traverse Million Dollar Shootout is one of TSN's most successful fan giveaways ever and this year the high-profile promotion is paired with one of the biggest games at the World Juniors on as Team Canada faces off against Team USA," said Phil King, president of TSN. "The contest has evolved into a marquee event, giving everyday sports fans the chance to step up to the blue line and win big." The contest will be promoted with 30-second commercials on TSN and TSN2, along with public relations, online material and in-game mentions during hockey broadcasts on TSN.
