SEGA HIRES MCCANN

Sega of America has given most of its print advertising and media buying account in the U.S. to McCann-Erickson's San Francisco office. For the moment, Sega is not saying what will happen north of the border. "If it does open up in Canada, everyone will be invited to compete for the account," spokesperson Roanne Argyle told Adnews this week. McCann-Erickson of Toronto, which was folded in MacLaren:McCann this year, was hired last year to do craetive in Canada on a project basis. Media Experts of Montreal handles media in Canada, and Temple Scott Associates of Ottawa and Toronto does public relations. Most Canadian creative comes out of the U.S. where Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco does broadcast advertising, and print was handled by various agencies on a project basis. Mednick Group of Los Angeles handles print for the Sega Saturn. BBDO's Los Angeles office did media buying.
