SEAGRAM BEVERAGE AND BURNETT SPLIT
By Adnews Staff
The Seagram Beverage Group has split from Chicago-based Leo Burnett Company after 10 years with the agency. Leo Burnett has handled worldwide advertising for its Tropicana juices, with the agency's Tronto office doing Canadian advertising. The move was made because Seagram saw a potential conflict after Burnett recently won Coca-Cola's Fruitopia division. A new Tropicana agency will be chosen from Seagram's current roster: TBWA Advertising, Ogilvy & Mather, Grey Advertising, Wells Rich Greene BDDP and Lord, Dentsu & Partners, all of New York. Tropicana is the second account Burnett has lost since getting the Fruitopia business. It resigned Cadbury Schweppes' 7Up account early this month. Seagram Beverage Group is a Seagram Company unit.
