New chief creative officer at JWT

J. Walter Thompson Canada of Toronto has promoted Ryan Spelliscy to the position of chief creative officer. He was previously a senior vice-president and executive creative director. Priot to joining the firm three years ago, he was co-creative director at Sid Lee and associate creative director at BBDO. Spelliscy has also worked at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, Lowe Roche and MacLaren McCann.

David Federico and Josh Budd have joined the agency as senior vice-presidents and creative directors. They will head the firm's Air Canada account, among others. Both were previously creative directors at Leo Burnett. Prior to that, Federico worked at Grip, John St. and Roche Macaulay, while Budd was at Station X, Cossette, Fjord Interactive, Cravingolives and Segal Communications.

Laurent Abesdris has been hired as an associate creative director. He was most recently associate creative director at OneMethod. Prior to that, he was a copywriter at Juniper Park, Taxi and Cossette.

Lisa McCoy has been hired as a design director. She was most recently co-creative director at Transcend 3. Prior to that, she was a design director at Watt International and an art director at Blammo Worldwide.

Rasna Jaswal has been promoted to the position of design director. She joined the agency two years ago as a senior designer. Prior to that, she was a designer at Interbrand, Taxi, MacLaren McCann and Context Creative.

Denise Cole has been promoted to associate creative director. She joined the firm three years ago as an art director. Prior to that, she was an art director at TBWA Toronto and Cutwater.
