DECISION IMMINENT FOR WCB ACCOUNT IN B.C.

The competition for the Workers Compensation Board of B.C. is down to three agencies. Incumbent Wasserman & Partners is on the short list with two other Vancouver agencies, Palmer Jarvis Advertising and Cossette Communication-Marketing. A decision is expected by next week. Bryant, Fulton & Shee, MacLaren: McCann and Grey Advertising, all in Vancouver, were also previously in contention. The account had been with J. Walter Thompson's Vancouver office for about six years. It moved to Wasserman when JWT closed its Vancouver office in the spring of this year. The JWT account director for the WCB, Noreen Kimberley, took the business with her when she moved to Wasserman. The agency chosen will advertise safety awareness and prevention techniques. Although no ad budget was given, the board told agencies to work with $1 million for the presentation.
