SOFTWARE MONITORS PERFORMANCE AND STRATEGY

A.C. Nielsen of Markham, Ont. introduced software this week that is designed to gather and analyze information for marketing, sales and category managers. Called Workstation Plus, the software can gather information from a variety of sources to monitor product performance, uncover business opportunities and threats, evaluate promotional activities, prepare category reviews and distribute the reviews electronically to decision makers. The program is available through Nielsen. Companies that will be using the software by the end of the year include Johnson & Johnson, Nalleys Canada, DowBrands, H.J. Heinz and Cadbury Beverages. PR for the program began this week. It is being done by Goodman Communications of Toronto.
