ADVERTISER KNOWS HOW TO MAKE DEBATE QUIETER

Wound Care International of Oakville, Ont. says it could keep Jacques Parizeau and Lucien Bouchard quiet until after the Oct. 30 referendum. The company launched put up a billboard in Toronto last week for its Woundmate Surgical Zipper. The ad shows the political leaders with their mouths zippered, under a headline saying "Pity we can't heal all wounds!" The ad was created by Copperfield Advertising Inc. of Oakville. Woundmate consists of two hypoallergenic adhesive strips stuck on either side of a plastic zipper that bring the edges of a wound together to seal it. It is quicker than surgical stapling and suturing, and leaves a smaller scare. Wound Care, which makes the product and markets it internationally, changed its name this year from An Haack Medical Products Canada. Wound Care is a subsidiary of the German company that originally developed and produced the surgical zipper, An Haack GMBH.
