NIELSEN SURVEYING CANADIAN INTERNET USE

A.C. Nielsen of Markham, Ont. and Ottawa-based Nordicity Group are set to conduct a survey together to measure Canadian consumers' use of and attitude toward the Internet. The study will measure the number of Canadian households that use the Internet and other on-line services, as well as determining people's reasons for using them. The results are to be available in December. Researchers will ask members of Nielsen's HomeScan panel whether they use personal computers and if they surf the Net, as well as whether they have done on-line shopping.
