AIR CANADA SPONSORS AHL
By Adnews Staff
Air Canada and its Atlantic regional carrier Air Nova, are the official airline sponsors of American Hockey League teams in Canada for the next two seasons. Under the deal, the airlines will fly all Canadian AHL teams to their games. As well, they will carry the winners of the AHL's All-Star Chrysler Fan Balloting program. In this promotion, fans vote for their favorite player to play in the All-Star Classic on January 16 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Casting votes gives them chances to win a trip for two to the All-Star game. Winners will be chosen in Cape Breton, Fredricton, P.E.I., Saint John and St. John's. The AHL has 18 teams. In Canada, five of them are in the Atlantic provinces, and one is in Cornwall, Ont. Other sponsors of the AHL are Anheuser-Busch, Nabisco Biscuit Company, Chrysler Canada, Collector's Edge, MasterCard International, CCM and Sher-Wood.
