Travel Alberta begins Wide Open Spaces campaign

Travel Alberta has begun a content marketing campaign in collaboration with National Geographic. The initiative, called “Wide Open Spaces,” takes the form of a two-part 360-degree video series depicting the landscapes of Alberta. The creative features National Geographic travel photographer Kahli April at Writing-on-Stone and Castle Provincial Parks. Viewers will be able to use the 360-degree technology used in the filming to view the landscapes from any angle. The videos will be posted to YouTube on July 17 and 24. The campaign was developed by Storyline, the content marketing division of Initiative Canada.

“The idea of a 360-degree video series with National Geographic came out of a desire to tap into the growing trend of virtual travel experiences and an effort to do justice to the awe-inspiring nature of Alberta's landscapes,” said Chris Gairdner, head of content at Initiative. “Collaborations like this allow us to help our clients build engaged communities around their brands.”
