Travel Alberta adds one, promotes two

Calgary-based tourism organization Travel Alberta, an entity of the Government of Alberta, has appointed Jon Mamela to the position of senior vice-president and chief commercial officer. He will begin work on March 14. Mamela was most recently executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at Destination Toronto. He was also vice-president of marketing and sales at Travel Alberta. Mamela has also worked at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
Travel Alberta has promoted Kara Claypool to the position of senior vice-president and chief financial officer. Claypool joined the organization in 2015 as vice-president of finance and corporate operations. Tannis Gaffney, previously vice-president of destination promotion at the organization has been promoted to senior vice-president and chief marketing officer.
