IHeartRadio Canada signs podcast deal with Spotify

IHeartRadio Canada of Toronto has signed a podcast distribution agreement with online streaming audio service Spotify. Through this agreement, original Bell Media podcasts on topics such as sports, entertainment, lifestyle and news will be available to Spotify users. These podcasts will be drawn from Bell Media properties including TSN, Much Studios, RDS, CTV News and IHeartRadio Canada. According to the company, its podcast library consists of approximately 11,000 unique programs.

"This new agreement with Spotify augments our ability to deliver the best storytelling to diverse audiences across the country, in every medium, on every platform, and now to more Canadians than ever before," said Rob Farina, head IHeartRadio at Bell Media. "Podcasting is an established and growing content ecosystem where diversity of opinion flourishes and a near limitless array of genres and sub-genres can be discovered and explored. As Canada's leading content company, we look forward to growing our footprint through sustained investment in this dynamic content community."
