Husqvarna conducts Goals for Trees promotion
Outdoor power equipment manufacturer Husqvarna Canada has begun a promotion called "Goals for Trees" in association with non-profit organization One Tree Planted. During the initiative, the company will fund the planting of 100 trees for each goal scored by the Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact soccer teams in 2017. Husqvarna is the exclusive lawn sponsor of each of these teams. The effort will also include half-time events featuring Husqvarna leaf blowers, field crew members in branded clothing and draws for robotic lawn mowers in each of the teams' colours. According to the company, the goals scored in the first half of this year's soccer season will already account for approximately 8,500 tree plantings.
"Husqvarna is very proud to sponsor not one team, but three with the Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact," said Michelle Sordi, director of marketing at Husqvarna North America. "With the 'Goals for Trees' program we are able to bring together our support of the beautiful game with our belief in conducting business with a respect for nature. Husqvarna is committed to taking social and environmental responsibility for our business."
