Samsung signs sponsorship with NHL

Samsung Canada has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the National Hockey League. The electronics company will be the league's first mobile, tablet and wearable hardware sponsor. In Canada, the agreement includes sponsorship of the digital properties NHL.com, NHL Social, and the NHL mobile application. Samsung will also be the presenting sponsor of the online video feature Inside the NHL Situation Room and the Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge. The NHL's official mobile application has been co-developed by Samsung and the league to includes "richer content" for users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones.

"Working hand-in-hand with the NHL, we have enhanced the mobile experience for the millions of avid hockey fans across Canada, offering them a unique point of view and an unparalleled fan journey," said Paul Brannen, executive vice-president of mobile solutions at Samsung Canada. "The way fans are watching sports is evolving, and this partnership helps us put the fan at the centre of the action."
