Air Miles, Samsung form digital wallet agreement

Loyalty program Air Miles has formed an agreement with electronics company Samsung Canada by which participants in the program will receive loyalty points for making purchases using the Samsung Pay digital wallet service. The service allows users to pay for purchases using a Samsung smartphone. Until the end of 2018, Air Miles participants will receive loyalty points when they use an Air Miles card via Samsung Pay. Consumers will also receive bonus points for linking their Air Miles account to their Samsung account. Air Miles is operated by LoyaltyOne of Toronto.
"At Air Miles we are focused on current market trends and evolving the way our collectors engage with partners to get miles," said Blair Cameron, president of Air Miles. "The addition of Samsung Pay is a new and innovative way that our collectors can participate in the program."
