WPP plans move to new Toronto location

WPP of New York has announced plans to consolidate the operations of its various Toronto-based subsidiaries into a single location at the proposed Waterfront Innovation Centre in the East Bayfront area of the city. Beginning in late 2021, WPP will be the anchor tenant in the building and will occupy approximately 260,000 square feet of space. The new location will replace the company's existing Toronto offices.

The site will house approximately 2,000 staff from agencies including Blast Radius, Buchanan Group, Coretech, GCI Group, GTB, Geometry Global, Grey, GroupM, H&K Strategies, John St., J. Walter Thompson, Kantar, Mirum, Ogilvy, SJR, Tenthavenue, Tank, Taxi, WPP Health & Wellness and Wunderman.

"The Toronto co-location allows proximity for all the group's people in a building that will be state of the art in terms of technology infrastructure," said Mark Read, chief operating officer at WPP. "It will make it easier for our people to work together and give clients agile, integrated solutions, world-class creativity and technology, and great work."

The Waterfront Innovation Centre is a joint venture of the City of Toronto, the federal government, and real estate firms Menkes Developments and Alcion Ventures.
