Lay's resumes Do Us a Flavour promotion
Potato chip brand Lay's has resumed its "Do Us a Flavour" contest promotion, first conducted last year. Until April 23, consumers can enter the contest by submitting an idea for a new chip flavour at <http://www.dousaflavour.ca>. The winner will receive $50,000 plus one percent of the future sales of that flavour of chip.
This year, entrants will be able to specify the style of chip to which their flavour would be applied: original, kettle cooked or wavy. The contest this year also includes social media elements making use of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram.
Television personality James Cunningham will participate in the promotion as a spokesperson. In Quebec, television personality and chef Antoine Sicotte will be the spokesperson. Marketing support for the contest includes a national television commercial that will break on March 2 during the broadcast of the Academy Awards, as well as digital ad, in-store materials and special packaging.
