Independent Electricity System Operator redesigns website

The Toronto-based Independent Electricity System Operator has launched a new website at <http://www.ieso.ca>. The site is intended to inform residents of Ontario about how the power system and electricity markets work in the province. The site also offers interactive data on electricity supply, demand and price. According to the organization, the new site makes use of an improved navigation system and streamlined content.
"The availability of market data will become increasingly important as Ontario's electricity system continues to evolve," said Terry Young, vice-president of corporate and employee relations at the organization. "The IESO website is an important tool for us to communicate with the public and our stakeholders."
The Independent Electricity System Operator is a not-for-profit organization responsible for managing the bulk electricity system and operating the wholesale electricity market in Ontario.
