TD, Tree Canada resume community initiative

TD Bank Group of Toronto and not-for-profit organization Tree Canada have resumed their community initiative called "#TDGreenStreets" for 2014. Communities can apply to the program for grants of up to $15,000 for community improvement projects involving trees. A total of $300,000 in funding will be allocated, provided by Tree Canada and the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. The program is open to Canadian municipalities, aboriginal communities and business improvement associations. Applications will be accepted until Jan. 10, 2014.
"Each year TD Green Streets funds innovative projects that impact and contribute to the greening of cities and towns across Canada," said Mary Desjardins, executive director of the foundation. "We are thrilled to support these projects and hope that more communities will be inspired to explore and develop creative methods to manage their tree canopies."
