Moisson Montreal breaks new campaign

Food bank Moisson Montreal has begun a fundraising campaign called “Hungry for Vacation,” intended to raise $60,000 to support non-profit organizations and food banks on the Island of Montreal that help school-aged children. The campaign makes use of the theme, “Because hunger does not take a vacation.” The visuals depict children in a beach setting surrounded by apartment buildings and graffiti. The campaign will also make use of testimonials on social media. It will run until Aug. 3. Sponsors of the campaign include TD Bank Group and Prével.

“These young children have their food assistance services interrupted for the summer and this leaves families short on resources,” said Catherine Boyer, deputy executive director of Moisson Montreal. “Fortunately, our community agencies are there to respond, but this year they are overwhelmed with new requests. According to many of our agencies, the rising cost of living is adding to the distress of families.”
