Kanetix.ca begins promotion with Tree Canada

Toronto-based online insurance comparison shopping site Kanetix.ca has begun a new campaign in association with Tree Canada. During the campaign, for each consumer who uses the site to search for and accept a car insurance quote, the company will donate the cost of planting a tree to the charitable organization. According to the company, the promotion is intended to encourage drivers to reduce their carbon footprint. It will run until April 22 in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.
"We want to help offset the impact driving has on the environment, and we are thrilled to be raising funds for Tree Canada to achieve this end," said Janine White, vice-president of marketplaces at Kanetix.ca. "Trees naturally absorb carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases released when we drive, and our goal is to give customers the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint all the while saving money on their auto insurance."
