Scotiabank signs sponsorship deal with Canucks

Canucks Sports & Entertainment of Vancouver has signed Scotiabank as the official bank sponsor of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. The agreement was brokered by S&E Sponsorship Group, Scotiabank's sponsorship agency of record. The sponsorship will include a community hockey in-game element, by which local Scotiabank-sponsored teams will be recognized for their contributions to their communities during Canucks home games. The bank will also sponsor a free hockey festival for girls between the ages of seven and 14 call the Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest. The deal also includes support for the Canucks for Kids Fund. Scotiabank was also the presenting sponsor of a fan event called the Canucks Open Scrimmage this weekend.

"Scotiabank is excited to partner with the Vancouver Canucks and we are thrilled to add the Canucks to our roster of teams and leagues that we sponsor across Canada," said Dave Poole, senior vice-president of Scotiabank for the BC and Yukon region. "Scotiabankers are passionate about hockey at all levels, from community hockey to the NHL. We believe the heart of our hockey sponsorship lives in the community, and we are proud to expand our hockey program and our passion for the game to Vancouver."

Scotiabank is also the official bank of the National Hockey League, NHL Alumni, the Canadian Women's Hockey League, the Winnipeg Jets, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ottawa Senators and the Calgary Flames. The company also sponsors the Montreal Canadiens.
