Chatelaine readies Target special issue

Toronto-based Chatelaine magazine will release a special issue this month, produced in association with retail chain Target. The issue, which will be in addition to the usual monthly publication, will be called Chatelaine Shops Target, and will contain editorial material derived from the editors' own experiences with shopping at the chain. According to Chatelaine, this is the first time in North America that a magazine has produced a branded issue based on a single sponsor.

"Chatelaine is delighted to be able to give its subscribers an extra issue packed with inspiring ideas and easy solutions for fall," said Tara Tucker, publisher of Chatelaine. "Like every issue of Chatelaine, for this 13th bonus issue, our editors selected the best products and solutions to help our readers make everyday extraordinary. The only difference is this time they went to Target to find their inspirational ideas."

The 132-page issue was developed by the Chatelaine editorial staff, with advertising content from the Rogers Media Creative Group. It will be distributed to Chatelaine subscribers on Sept. 23. It will also be distributed in Target stores for free with a purchase. The content will also be available through the magazine's online editions. In addition, a special episode of the television program Cityline will air nationally on Sept. 17, dedicated to topics covered in the magazine.
