McDonald's Canada readies Egg McMuffin campaign

McDonald's Canada has released a new commercial promoting its Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwich. The 60-second commercial, created by Cossette of Toronto, will break nationally in cinemas on July 12 and will air on television during the launch of new fall programming in September. The ad depicts a young man and woman who meet by chance, spend the night out in the city, then share an Egg McMuffin at dawn. It ends with the tagline, "When you find the one and only, there's nothing like it." The campaign includes English and French versions of the ad. "When we're advertising something like the Egg McMuffin or the Big Mac or fries, we're essentially advertising the McDonald's brand,” said David Daga, co-chief creative officer at Cossette, "How often do you get a brief that says, 'It's the one and only?' It's a special product for a special brand, and we wanted to make sure this spot measured up to both."
