Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation begins 1,000 Cooks for the Cure campaign
By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will conduct a promotion this month in association with KitchenAid Canada. The promotion, called "1,000 Cooks for the Cure," will attempt to encourage at least 1,000 cooks in Canada and the US to host an event between July 19 and 28. Attendees of these events will then be encouraged to make a donation to the foundation. Interested event hosts can register online at CookfortheCure.com. The effort is being supported with social media activities. The promotion is part of the organization's larger Cook for the Cure program, now in its 11th year, that raises funds for breast cancer initiatives through the sale of KitchenAid products. "Participating in this worthy cause is easy, and it's a great reason to get together with family, friends or colleagues during the peak summer entertaining season," said Aleksandra Hoszowski, senior marketing manager at KitchenAid Canada. "Whether hosting a casual office party, barbecue, dessert sampling or multi-course dinner, the idea is to ask guests to bring nothing to the party but a donation in any amount they choose."
