The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Prostate Cancer Canada have begun a joint campaign intended to raise awareness of the most common cancers in women and men. The campaign, called "Kiss 2 Cure," will run until Feb. 14. It takes the form of a national social media campaign. Consumers are encouraged to participate by posting photographs on social media services of themselves kissing, and to make donations toward research into the diseases. The campaign includes a website at <http://www.kiss2cure.ca>, as well as an online promotional video featuring people describing their experiences with cancer. Five winners will receive flights for two from sponsor Air Canada.
"This is the first in what we expect will be a long-term partnership to not just fundraise for both organizations but also raise awareness among couples affected by either disease," said Lynne Hudson, chief executive at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. "Like any good partnership, we can be stronger together. That is what we are hoping to demonstrate."
