Sponsorship roundup

Digital imaging company Canon Canada has signed a five-year sponsorship agreement with the Canadian Soccer Association and its national teams. Canon is now the exclusive supplier of consumer imaging, office and medical equipment to the association, as well as an associate sponsor of the organization's Active Start Soccer Fests. "Canon has a long and proud history of supporting soccer around the globe," said Colleen Ryan, senior director of corporate communications at Canon Canada. "Soccer is the largest participatory sport in Canada and is the fastest growing sport in the country. We are extremely proud to support all levels of soccer in Canada."

RBC Insurance has signed-on as a sponsor of the Canadian Paralympic Committee's 2012-13 Recruitment Program Fund. The fund awards grants of up to $10,000 to sports organizations to support the creation or expansion of programs that provide a positive introductory sports experience for participants with disabilities. "RBC Insurance is thrilled to join the Canadian Paralympic Committee in helping grow the Paralympic movement in Canada and enabling more people with a disability to become involved in sport," said Neil Skelding, president and CEO of RBC Insurance. "Since many grassroots sports programs have limited resources and rely on volunteer contributions, this fund will help increase those resources to offer quality introductory sports programming for Canadians with a disability."
