RBC Insurance sponsors Swimming Canada

RBC Insurance of Toronto has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Swimming Canada. During the agreement, the company will be the presenting sponsor of Canada's Swim Team, a program that works to teach children how to swim. The initiative is a joint effort of RBC Insurance, Swimming Canada, the Canadian Red Cross, the Lifesaving Society and the Canadian Medical Association. The organization hopes to reach 700,000 children and their families in the next three years. The sponsorship is a part of RBC's "Learn to Play Project" that supports community-based organizations benefitting children.

"We know that teaching kids to swim 25 metres can help save lives," said Rino D'Onofrio, head of Canadian insurance business at RBC Insurance. "When a child learns how to swim they become more water-safe, healthier and more confident. Learning to swim also opens up lifelong recreational opportunities for children. By supporting Canada's Swim Team, we want to ensure that all children have the opportunity and encouragement they need to participate and learn how to swim at an early age."

Swimming Canada is the national governing body of competitive swimming. It represents 75,000 members and 400 swim clubs nationally.
