Tourism Toronto, Tourisme Montreal conduct Cheating Wall promotion

Tourism Toronto and Tourisme Montréal have begun a joint promotion called "The Cheating Wall." The installation consists of an interactive screen in each city that displays a live panoramic view of the other city. During the 10-day event, which will run until June 15, pedestrians in both cities will be able to interact in live video chats with each other. Special presentations such as a fashion show, a comedy contest and a dance party will also take place. The Toronto display is located at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on King Street West, while the Montreal display is at 350 de Maisonneuve Boulevard at the corner of Bleury Street. The installation is supported by websites at <http://www.thecheatingwall.com> and <http://www.trompetavillemuramur.com> as well as a Facebook page and Twitter feed, bus shelter ads and street posters.  "As both cities evolve as global, cosmopolitan urban destinations they appeal to sophisticated travelers who are looking for vibrant and exciting city experiences," said David Whitaker, president and CEO of Tourism Toronto. "Hundreds of thousands of people already travel between Toronto and Montreal each year, and we have an opportunity to encourage more people to cheat on their own city and explore another truly amazing city."
