Sponsorship roundup

UPS has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Vancouver International Film Festival to become the official courier of the event. The company will handle the shipping of all participating films to and from the festival. "The Vancouver International Film Festival would not be possible without the timely arrival of the films and the assistance of our volunteers," said Betty Verkuil, director of development and communications for the festival. "We want to thank UPS and all of the dedicated volunteers who consistently help to make this event such a success."

Home furnishings retailer Ikea Canada has signed-on as a sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada. The company will donate room makeovers to Canadian children with life-threatening medical conditions. "Giving back to the communities Ikea serves is the foundation of the partnership with Make-A-Wish," said company president Kerri Molinaro. "By aligning our expertise in home furnishings with Make-A-Wish's experience in making dreams come true, our organizations can make a huge difference in the lives of children and their families across Canada."
